Martin Pizem
(communication and visibility coordinator)Martin has been actively involved in the development of culture and tourism in the Spiš region since his high school years. In 2016 he obtained a Master’s degree in Culture and Tourism Management at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. After graduation, he worked in the Regional Tourism Organisation Slovenský raj & Spiš as a marketing manager, in Hotel Metropol in Spišská Nová Ves as a marketing and sales manager and recently also as a marketing, PR and production manager within the project of the City of Culture Revúca 2022, “Switch to Revúca”. In addition, he also has a lot of practical experience in creating promotional and marketing texts as a copywriter for various companies, organizations and projects.
As a coordinator of Machaon International’s communication activities, Martin participated in the innovative project Creative Mountains. His work in support of the Slovak Paradise National Park inevitably brought him into contact with issues of cultural and socio-economic development of rural areas. He became familiar with working with local communities, bloggers and photographers, folklore groups, farmers and artisans.
In addition to his “standard” work, Martin is an active musician. He works as a guitarist in the well-known Slovak band Smola a Hrušky and as a composer, singer and guitarist in his own project – the band Freetimers. In addition, he runs a music space called Hudobná klubovňa under the ADAM Leisure Time Centre in Spišská Nová Ves, where young and non-professional musicians have the opportunity to meet, play and create.
Martin likes to spend his free time actively. He likes mountain biking, hiking, swimming, basketball. He likes to travel and get to know new places, their authentic atmosphere, people or gastronomy. He often attends various music and art events.
Martin is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
