Mikhail Beketov

Monumentalist, enamel artist. Coordinator of international art-symposia.

Born in Kazakhstan in 1953. In 1974 he graduated from the Alma-Ata Art College named after N.V. Gogol (Kazakhstan). In 1982 he graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Industrial Art (formerly known as Stroganovskoe).

Member of the Union of Artists of Russia and member of the Union of Designers of Russia since 1985. Winner of the All-Russian contests “Design-2003” and “Design-2007”, awarded the “Victoria” prize. Diplomas of the Academy of Arts of Russia and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2008-2009) and prize in the international biennale competition “White Nights” (2010). Laureate of the Prize of the Central Federal District in the field of literature and art in 2013. Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art in 2014. One of the authors of the “Hockey Brotherhood” memorial in Yaroslavl.

Participant of many international exhibitions and symposia in France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Russia and Slovakia. His artworks are exhibited in galleries and museums in Kazakhstan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Russia and Uzbekistan and in various private collections.
