Olena Kachur

(coordinator of cultural programs)

Director of mass theatrical events, concerts and festivals with more than 25 years of experience. She graduated the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture in 2000. For more than 15 years, she has been the director and soloist of the folk amateur vocal ensemble “Evening Star” at the Center for Culture and Arts of the Orikhiv City. Since 2005, she worked as manager of cultural department of the Orikhiv City Council in Zaporozhie region.

Olena is the author of original scripts, music, and poems. In 2016, she received the title of Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine. In 2019, she graduated from the Academy of cultural leader educational and training program in Ukraine, and gained new skills in developing a cultural strategy, managing  cultural projects, and engaging audiences. She has various awards for her high performance skills, professionalism, education of the younger generation,  and popularization of folk art.

In April 2022, she moved to Slovakia due to the war and was actively involved in the organisation of cultural integration programs for refugees in the framework of the initiative Tatras help Ukraine, and effectively promoted Ukrainian culture in Slovakia (i.e. in festival Wedding in Paradise, Slovak-Ukrainian friendship evening) contributed to the establishment of kind relationship between Slovaks and Ukrainians, motivated Ukrainians to be active members of the Slovak society, not only recipients of help.

Olena has excellent skills in the organisation of art-therapy programs and since July 2022 she has been involved as an animator in programs focused on integration of Ukrainian children into the Slovak society (i.e. children creative camp, Childrens’ day). She contributed to resolving their problems with passivity, depression and post-traumatic syndrome – typical for refugees. Thanks to her incredible work, not only children and young adults, but also their parents become happier and more optimistic.
